The Museum:

The Museum and Exhibit Gallery is housed in the Visitors Center. This is an excellent place to begin your tour of Batsto Village. A part of the expansion in the early 1980’s, this area contains permanent displays tracing Batsto’s history. Changeable exhibits are also periodically displayed by the Mansion staff in this Museum area. The quilt shown below was made at Batsto by Mary Stewart, the wife of Robert Stewart. This quilt dates to approximately 1865 and is currently on display.
