Quilt made by Mary Stewart

The Museum and Exhibit Gallery, housed in the Visitors Center, is an excellent place to begin your tour of Batsto Village.

As a part of the expansion in the early 1980s, this area contains permanent displays tracing Batsto’s history. Changeable exhibits are also periodically displayed by the Mansion staff in the Museum area. The quilt shown here was made at Batsto by Mary Stewart, the wife of Robert Stewart. This quilt dates to approximately 1865 and is currently on display.

Be sure visit the Batsto Village Museum Shop. You will find an excellent selection of gifts and souvenirs here. A special section displays material for children. Books relating to Batsto Village, and the Pinelands in general, are available in formats for all ages. You can also find material about the Wharton State Forest.
